Performing music is a very important aspect of our music lesson programs. Dancers have recitals, gymnasts competitions, baseball players, games, this is where all the practice and hard to work come to fruition and it gives us a reason to keep on achieving.
Applying the knowledge and skills you've worked hard to achieve and using them to perform in from of an audience big or small builds confidence that goes far past the concert stage, it carries over to numerous life situations, think giving a presentation at school, a job interview, social skills that are diminishing rapidly in a texting, social media world.
Our students have played national headline events such as the grand opening of the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City that houses the KC Symphony, to Six Flags Over Texas and local events such as the Lions Club Keller Tx annual carnival and pageant, the YMCA North Ft. Worth Boo Bash and numerous City of Keller Tx and Keller Chamber of Commerce events as well as our black tie winter recitals that are elegant and amazing.

Choosing a beginner guitar
There are many beginner guitars out there for any budget, choosing the right style and size to learn on is very important!
Electric guitars tend to have smaller bodies than acoustic guitars, the necks are slimmer for small hands and the strings are much lighter and easier to press down. They do tend to be heavier than acoustic guitars and while they can be heard well enough unplugged for practicing, to get the most out of them you will need an amplifier. Bass guitars are generally electric and come in regular full size or short scale for kids 12 and under.
Acoustic guitars are plenty loud on their own and don't require an amplifier, though there are electric / acoustic models made for plugging in for performance situations. The body sizes can vary greatly on acoustic guitars, parlor size and concert size being smaller, dreadnought and jumbo being larger. Classical style guitars have very wide necks and plastic style strings not recommended for young beginners.
3/4 size acoustics and electric guitars are available, choose carefully as many are very cheaply made and will have problems with tuning and electronics, we have not encountered a 1/2 size guitar we can recommend, they tend to be toys.
Below are a few good models from $59 up. Unlike $100 used baseball gloves or cleats or used dance or ballet outfits, a good quality guitar is easy to sell when you are ready to trade up, and a good quality instrument can last a lifetime.
